Denise Richards is looking forward to starting the new year as a ‘better’ version of herself after a tumultuous 2025.
The RHOBH alum took to her Instagram account on Jan. 1 to reflect on the painful moments she faced last year, including her messy divorce from her ex Aaron Phypers.
“When I look back at all the photos and videos I have from 2025, I feel like I’m looking at two different people and living two different lives,” she began alongside a photo of herself posing in front of a sunset.
She continued, “Seeing many of your posts, many of you had the same feeling. I will never forget this year, one of the most painful years I have experienced. The year of the snake. A year of shedding… A year of letting go, truths being exposed.”
“As painful as it is, I am so grateful for the clarity. I have shed many tears and felt pain and betrayal that I never knew existed,” she shared, noting that she “couldn’t have gotten through this year without my family, friends old and new, this community, those I work with, and @drbentalei and @robertcohenmd, who have truly done so much for me.”
Expressing how her supporters have shown her love throughout her career, she noted, “I’m so grateful that you all helped me get through it. And going to Comic-Cons this year and BravoCon was so humbling for me,”
“I have had many blessed, happy moments in 2025 and especially in the last few months I am finally starting to feel like myself again, but better,” the mother of three added. “I’m lucky that it starts on my birthday. Happy New Year to all of you and Happy New You to those of you who actually experienced it in 2025. Happy 2026!”
For those unfamiliar, Denise’s ex Aaron filed for divorce in July, citing “irreconcilable differences.” After the divorce, Denise accused Aaron of domestic violence, claiming he “repeatedly abused” her during their marriage.
Although Aaron has denied the allegations, the court previously imposed a five-year restraining order on Denise in November.
