Adam Sandler is making fun of being an Oscar snob this year.
Sandler, 59, was not nominated for his performance in the George Clooney filmJay Kelly and he thinks it’s because he’s not as good at licking boots as other actors.
While accepting the Maltin Modern Master Award at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival on Thursday, February 5, he joked: “Thanks to the fortune teller I met in 1982 who told me I would win an Oscar for a movie called Jay Kelly. Is it possible you didn’t say the full title and actually meant Jay Kelly 2?”
“Really, I want to thank everyone who got an Oscar nomination this year. Congratulations. You deserve it. I really think you can act better than me,” he added in his speech. People. “I also really think you’re better at ass kissing at the Academy.”
The Happy Gilmore star played a Hollywood manager to actor Jay Kelly in the Netflix film.

He also addressed the stupidity during an on-stage conversation with Leonard Maltin at the event.
“I didn’t get an Oscar nomination. That’s all good, man. I don’t think about it too much,” he said. “I woke up that morning and found out I didn’t get it. Everyone who did get the nomination was like, ‘They were great. So it made sense. It doesn’t really bother me that much. I just feel proud of that movie and I loved running around with Noah. [Baumbach] and Clooney and Laura [Dern] and with the entire team. You never forget those types. It was great.”
Although he didn’t get an Oscar nod, Adam Sandler did get nominations for the Critics Choice Awards and the Golden Globe Awards Jay Kelly.
