Dubai: The high-octane Super Four Clash of the ACC Men’s T20 Asia Cup 2025 between Pakistan and India will be officially by competition referee Andy Pycroft, it came up on Saturday.
Pakistan will compete against arch -rival India in the Super Four Encounter in the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday.
The controversy started during the group stage meeting on September 14, when Pycroftt Captains Salman Ali Agha and Suryakumar instructed Yadav not to shake hands with the Worp.
The incident led to visible tension, in which both skippers avoided usual gestures before and after the game.
After the victory of India, their players returned directly to the dressing room, causing the Pakistan team to wait on the field, causing the situation to ignore.
The Pakistan team manager, Naveed Akram Cheema, has submitted an official protest and claimed that Pycroft was wrong. PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi also submitted a formal complaint to the ICC in search of his deletion by officially officing Pakistan.
Although the request was refused, Pycroft later apologized to the captain of Pakistan and the team management prior to their match against the VAE, which had already been delayed because of discussions behind the scenes.
Despite the unrest outside the field, Pakistan De Vae started to beat and secure their qualification for the Super Four stage next to India.
Elsewhere, Sri Lanka Groep B reached unbeaten with six points, while Bangladesh became four second.
In group A, India led the rankings after their victory over Oman, in which Pakistan finished second. Oman ended without a victory, while the VAE succeeded.
The Super Four stage starts on Saturday in Dubai with Sri Lanka opposite Bangladesh. India and Pakistan will collide at the same location on Sunday, before Pakistan accepts Sri Lanka in Abu Dhabi on September 23.
