Javier Bardem gets ‘more offers’ despite Hollywood blacklist rumours

Javier Bardem is outspoken about activism

Javier Bardem is outspoken about his views, and he expresses them without fear of consequences.

But instead of backlash, the Dune star says he’s receiving more acting offers after speaking out.

Bardem attributes this change to things changing, especially among the younger generation.

“Everyone is starting to realize – thanks to the younger generation, who are more aware of situations we experience directly on our phones and other screens – that this is unacceptable.”

“It cannot be justified, and there can be no reason or explanation for this genocide,” he said.

“That’s why I think what’s happening is exactly the opposite,” the actor says of the alleged fear of Hollywood’s blacklist.

He further adds, “I believe that those who create the so-called blacklists will actually be exposed.”

“And they will be the ones to suffer the so-called consequences, at least at the public and social level. And this is a big change,” he adds.

Similarly, Bardem previously told Variety that he has “always felt that I have microphones and recorders recording my voice, and that I have the right to challenge what I think is wrong.”

His comments came at Cannes, where his new film The Beloved premiered to a seven-minute ovation.
