Hailee Steinfeld pays close attention to what she eats and does her best to be as “gentle” as possible to herself weeks after giving birth.
The Sinners star, who welcomed her first baby last month with her husband, Josh Allen, shared rare insights into her postpartum recovery routine.
Thinking about the importance of nutrition for a mother after giving birth, the Pitch Perfect star shared on her Beau Society Substack, “My amazing doula taught me so much about postpartum nutrition. In general, she recommended that I consume warm foods during my postpartum recovery to aid digestion and boost nutrient absorption, a philosophy that comes from Ayurveda.”
The newly minted mother continued: “Knowing this, my mother recently made me this amazing albondigas soup. It’s one of those rare soups that looks as good as it tastes.”
During this vulnerable time of postpartum, Heng Ou’s Postpartum Cookbook, The first 40 dayscame in handy for Hailee.
The 29-year-old actress said: “Every word has resonated. There’s a paragraph early on that talks about how even 40 days after giving birth you’re still in such a vulnerable state. People understand that about your new baby, but they don’t understand that about you, the mother.”
She added, “I’m still in these early days and have to remember to be super gentle with myself in every way — physically, mentally, nutritionally, spiritually, everything.”
This came after the doting wife shared an adorable glimpse of her baby daughter to celebrate Mother’s Day on her Instagram.
She posted two photos, one of which showed the little one’s tiny hand wrapping her tiny finger around Hailee’s index finger.
While the other showed the baby girl dressed in a white onesie with black polka dots and strawberry patterned socks on the feet.
It is pertinent to mention that Hailee and Josh tied the knot in a private ceremony in May 2025. The couple started dating in May 2023 and got engaged in November 2024. The former announced that they were expecting their first child in December 2025.
