Billie Eilish, a renowned pop icon, is now set to make her film acting debut after being in talks to join Sarah Polley’s film adaptation of Sylvia Plath’s The Bell Jar.
Several major studios have joined for the film. Joy Gorman Wettels (Little House on the Prairie, 13 Reasons Why), Plan B Entertainment and StudioCanal will produce the project, according to Term.
While Focus Features – the studio known for releasing award-winning films – will helm the adaptation.
Meanwhile, Gorman Wettels, who first bought the rights to the book through her company Joy Coalition, has seized Eilish and Polley.
Notably, the film adaptation will be Polley’s – an Academy Award-winning director – first film since her critically acclaimed film. Woman talking in 2023.
