Dolly Parton Reveals Why She Stopped Touring: ‘I’m Not Almost Done Yet’

Dolly Parton is ‘back to normal’ after grief left her ‘exhausted’.

The American singer and songwriter, also known as the Queen of Country, opened up about the health issues she has faced in recent months, which led her to cancel her Las Vegas residency in September.

Dolly, who also grieved the death of her husband Carl Dean last year, recently said during an appearance at her Dollywood theme park: “I haven’t been on tour, as you know. I’ve had some little health issues, and we’re taking good care of them.”

The 80-year-old legendary singer explained the reason behind her health problems, saying, “I just got a little worn out and exhausted, grieving for Carl and a lot of other little things that were going on.”

“I just got myself to the point where I had to rebuild myself mentally, emotionally and physically.”

Dolly allayed her fans’ fears, sharing: “All is well. It hasn’t slowed me down.”

Now Dolly revealed that she is “back to normal” and is working on her upcoming Broadway musical Dolly: A True Original Musical.

“I’ve just been doing a lot of writing, a lot of thinking, a lot of praying, and preparing for a lot of new things coming up for the rest of this year,” she added. “So be prepared for me. I’m not done yet, I’m not even close to done yet.”
