Zach Braff has quashed the rumor that he is dating an AI chatbot.
The 50-year-old actor took to his Instagram Stories on Thursday and wrote a comment that appears to be related to a December episode of the series I need you podcast.
“I’m not dating a chatbot,” Zach wrote. “I can’t believe I have to type these words.”
“It’s a storyline in an upcoming episode of Scrubs. Maybe it came from there? I’m not sure. But not me. Love, the guy who doesn’t date his chatbot. Please update all gossip sites,” he added.
In addition to his statement, the Scrubs star shared a screenshot of the podcast, hosted by Max Silvestri, Jenny Slate and Gabby Ledman.
“There is a famous actor who is currently in a romantic relationship with his AI chatbot,” Max said on the podcast.
“And [he] takes the chatbot to places and talks to the chatbot. I’m thinking about the phone or computer or whatever,” he added. “This person also made movies.”
For those unfamiliar, Zach was previously romantically involved with actress Florence Pugh. The two called it quits in 2022.
