Teyanna Taylor defends her reaction to Amy Madigan’s Oscar win.
The One battle after another actress, who lost the best actress in the Supporting Role category Weapons villain Amy Madigan, called out critics by taking to her X account.
“The world harbors so much misery that wretched hearts forget the face of happiness,” Taylor wrote, referencing the X user who shared her reaction video when Madigan received her award at the 98th Academy Award.
“They’re comfortable being sore losers, so when they see real sportsmanship, they get restless! Like holy water touching a demon,” she continued.
It is pertinent to mention that when Zoe Saldana announced Madigan as the winner, Taylor excitedly stood up from her seat and happily clapped for her fellow nominee.
The Everything is fair actress added, “Because clapping for someone else’s victory requires something that many people have never learned… how to win with grace and pure joy, and how to lose with grace, chin up and dignity.”
Madigon wasn’t the only one whose victory was celebrated by Taylor. She cheered the victory of Michael B. Jordan, who received his first-ever Oscar, beating out other notable names including Leonardo DiCaprio and Timothee Chalamet.
Taylor also stepped onto the stage with her One battle after another castmates when her film won Best Picture that night.
