Maren has sought an injunction to stop Taylor from using the title of her twelfth studio album, which was released in October 2025, while also seeking unspecified damages from UMG Recordings and the pop star.
“A solo artist who spent 12 years building a brand shouldn’t have to see it disappear just because someone bigger came along,” Wade’s lawyer told the newspaper.
Maren, that columnist is in favor Las Vegas weekly, began writing columns in 2014 titled “Confessions of a Showgirl,” in which she talks about her experiences in the entertainment industry.
This later expanded into a podcast and live show with pop and jazz music. Her trademark includes theater productions, live performances, TV and much more.
Maren claimed in the lawsuit that Taylor ignored her trademark.
“They did not do this quietly,” the complaint said. “Within weeks, the mark was applied to consumer goods, stamped on labels, tags and packaging, and deployed as source identification through retail channels – all aimed at the same audience that the plaintiff had been serving for years.”
