Elsie Hewitt is said to be struggling with the reality of being a single mother after her split from Pete Davidson.
Just five months after welcoming their daughter Scottie Rose, Pete and Elsie have split.
Now sources tell People Magazine that the model is carrying the full mental burden of motherhood.
Referring to her latest TikTok post, in which Elsie clapped back at the criticism of her casual appearance, the source said, “That’s not what I’m thinking about right now because I have a baby to take care of, and I also have to work and make money, and I’m doing it alone, which is hard,” the source noted, “She’s talking about the day-to-day reality of raising her baby largely alone, while also trying to continue working and building stability for herself and her daughter.”
“They had relationship problems for a while, which was very stressful for her, and she is now feeling the full mental burden of motherhood,” an insider said of the former couple’s relationship.
The source explains that while Elsie “loves being a mom and her daughter is the cutest,” but “most moms understand that motherhood is emotionally and physically exhausting, especially when you’re carrying most of the day-to-day responsibilities alone.”
Additionally, they added, “She talked about it from an emotional perspective and how isolating it can feel when your whole life changes overnight.”
“She never expected to be a single mother. She is grateful for her daughter and focused on being the best mother she can be, but emotionally this has been a much more difficult transition than she expected,” the source said.
Elsie Hewitt and Pete Davidson were first linked in March 2025 and announced the pregnancy in July 2025. Their daughter, Scottie Rose, was born on December 12, 2025.
