Anderson .Paak just admitted that he feels “free” during his performance with Bruno Mars.
The Leave the door open hitmaker will join his Silk Sonic bandmate on stage during his The romantic tour, opens the evening as DJ Pee, his DJ alter ego.
He will then join Bruno for his set to perform their hits together, and Anderson has said he is excited to be part of a stadium spectacle.
“This is cake. This is like a luxury tour, you know?” he said PEOPLE magazine, adding, “I’ve been on tour, and it’s nothing like a stadium tour, with the good catering, the huge rooms, thousands of people, and I get to play nice music.”
Anderson also teased that fans around the world are in for “a treat” with the shows, and he was thrilled to be back with Bruno for the first time since their 2022 Las Vegas residency. An evening with Silk Sonic.
“It’s like we’re back again, like we never left, doing the choreo and playing these songs,” he exclaimed.
Anderson continued, “A lot of people haven’t seen our residence, so people are seeing this for the first time. It’s amazing. There’s no greater feeling.”
“When we’re together, it’s something different. When we’re together, we’re free. I feel like we’re connected to who we really are, and that’s nothing like that,” he added.
Anderson also praised his ex-wife Jaylyn Chang and his extended family for helping him make touring easier amid his commitments to his two sons, Soul, 15, and eight-year-old Shine.
He said: “It’s very difficult and the balance is very uneven unless you have a great partner.
“It takes a village for someone to be working and on the road all the time. Time doesn’t stop and the kids keep growing and there has to be someone to care for them and keep an eye on them. It’s not about how much time you spend, it’s what you do with the time you spend with them,” Anderson .Paak explained while talking about family time.
