Arsenal FC have been crowned Premier League champions for the first time in 22 years after Manchester City FC failed to beat AFC Bournemouth on Tuesday.
City needed a win to keep the title race alive heading into the final day of the season.
However, Junior Kroupi’s goal in the 39th minute gave Bournemouth the lead before Erling Haaland scored an injury-time equalizer that proved too late for Pep Guardiola’s side.
The result sparked celebrations outside Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium as supporters clinched the club’s first league title since the famous ‘Invincibles’ season of 2003-04 under Arsene Wenger.
Midfielder Declan Rice celebrated the moment on Instagram, writing: “I told you all… it’s done.”
It is Arsenal’s 14th English league title, putting them behind only Liverpool FC and Manchester United FC in the all-time standings.
Manager Mikel Arteta secured his first Premier League crown after Arsenal finished second in each of the previous three seasons.
Arsenal can now complete a historic double when they take on Paris Saint-Germain FC in the Champions League final on May 30.
