Madonna’s heartbreaking confession about fighting suicidal thoughts

Madonna opened about one of the darkest chapters of her life and admitted that she had once considered suicide during her painful custody fight about her son Rocco Ritchie.

The Queen of Pop shared her emotional truth in her first podcast interview ever with Jay Shetty.

Madonna revealed that the legal fight with ex-husband Guy Ritchie left her ‘sob in her dressing room’ in 2016 in the evening after night while she still performed on tour.

“There were times in my life when I wanted to cut my arms … I actually thought of suicide,” Madonna familiar.

The 67-year-old music legend described the battle for her son, who chose to live in London with his father at the age of 16, as one of the most painful moments of her life.

“Someone who tried to take my child from me was like, they might as well kill me. I really thought it was the end of the world. I couldn’t handle it.”

The guardianship fight, however, finally ended in a settlement that allowed Rocco to stay in the UK.

Madonna said her spirituality helped her to survive that difficult time, and today she is ‘good friends’ with her son. “Thank good I no longer feel like that,” she added.

The singer also thought about her broken relationship with her deceased brother Christopher, who died in June 2024.

She revealed that they were reconnected before his death after years of alienation.

Moreover, Madonna has credited her spiritual journey, including her study by Kabbalah, to give her strength at the most difficult moments of life
