Karachi/Lahore: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has suspended all previously granted NO-Bjection certificates (NOCS) for national players who want to participate in overseas competitions, because it makes a new strategy that will connect future approvals with player performance.
A notification issued by PCB Chief Operating Officer Sumair Ahmad Syed Las that all NOCs for participation in foreign competitions and tournaments have been set out with immediate effect and to further orders indicated. The decision only came one day after Pakistan’s defeat in the Asia Cup final.
The suspension influences various leading cricketers, including Babar Azam, Shahen Shah Afridi, Mohammad Rizwan, Haris Rauf, Shadab Khan and Faheem Ashraf, who had previously received permission to get permission in the Big Bash League of Australia (BBL).
The PCB sources confirmed that the issue of NOCs will be based on performance in the future and only those players who meet the fixed standards in international and domestic cricket are eligible to play foreign competitions.
Players who do not meet the criteria are required to work with coaches at the National Cricket Academy to improve their skills before they look for overseas contracts.
The sources also said that the decision is intended to ensure that national players give priority to their performance for Pakistan in both international and domestic competitions.
They emphasized that earlier NOCs, including those issued for the upcoming Big Bash League, are now being suspended pending the recent and upcoming versions of the players.
‘Shaheen Shah Afridi Fan Bay’
It can be noted here that Shaheen will have his first Stint in the Australian League, because the left arm Pacer was caught by Brisbane Heat in the first general pick in the BBL 15 Draft.
In a statement, Brisbane Heat also announced to launch the “Shaheen Shah Afridi Fan Bay” to celebrate his first outing in the competition. “Shaheen Shah Afridi Fan Bay” will be located in the Gabba, the home bus for Brisbane Heat.
