Lola Young puts her health first after a frightening collapse on stage.
The 24-year-old singer announced that she cancel all upcoming tour dates and performances and says fans that she needs time away from the spotlights.
“I’m going away for a while. It hurts me to say that I have to cancel everything for the near future,” she wrote in an Instagram post of September 30. “Thanks for all love and support.”
She apologized to those who had bought tickets and added: “It hurts me more than you know”, but promised full refunds.
The decision only comes three days after the Messy Hitmaker collapsed Midden Performance at New York’s All Things Go Festival.
Just before the incident, she told the crowd that she had ‘had a difficult few days’, and admitted: “Sometimes life can really give you the feeling that you can’t go on, but you know what, today I woke up and I made the decision to get here.”
Young, who has been frank about her struggle with mental health and addiction, later assured fans reassured that she ‘did well now’.
She also asked online critics for compassion, writing: “To all people who like to be in common, give me a day off.”
