Apple removed various apps that were used on Thursday to report the movements of American immigration and customs enforcement agents (ICE) of the US from his App Store Anonymous, reportedly after the pressure of the Trump administration.
The apps had become increasingly popular in recent months when the deportation Drive from President Donald Trump steamed in cities throughout the country.
But the Trump administration officials had strongly criticized the apps as classification officers, especially after a fatal shooting in an ice facility in Texas last month.
Officials said that the shooter had used such an app in the days prior to his attack.
Two prisoners died as a result of the shooting and another was injured, although researchers believe that the shooter focused on ice staff.
Protests occurred at ICE facilities and during ice operations throughout the country, because Trump’s Mass Deportation Drive has completed thousands of migrants, often by masked agents.
IJtracking apps, including the popular ice block, were not accessible to AFP Reporters in the Apple App Store at the end of Thursday.
FOX Business reported for the first time about the removal of the apps, in which the attorney General Pam Bondi told the news exit that the Ministry of Justice “had reached Apple today and demanded that they had taken the Iceblock app from their App Store -and Apple did this.”
Apple did not immediately respond to one AFP Request for comments.
In a statement to NBC News, the company said: “Based on information we have received from law enforcement on the safety risks related to Iceblock, we have removed the similar apps from the App Store.”
