Ozzy Osbourne and Sharon Osbourne’s married life is one of the focuses in his new posthumously published memoir, Last ritesand it reveals raw and vulnerable details about their relationship.
The late rocker and 43-year-old Sharon went through many tumultuous periods, many of them due to his infidelity.
In the book published on October 7, the Black Sabbath member confessed that he once “thought it was a great idea to see a bunch of women there.”
Ozzy wrote that Sharon “had every right to dump him” when the truth came out, but it wasn’t so much about love or romance, and more about “filling a void.”
Speaking about the scandal, the singer continued: “At some point you get trapped and you can’t stop seeing them because you think they’re going to go to the press or whatever. That’s kind of what happened.”
He added: “Sharon said, ‘What the hell did you expect, Ozzy? If you see enough women, one of them is going to want more. And that’s the one that’s going to bring the whole thing crashing down on everyone’s heads.'”
The late rock star admitted that he was ultimately grateful that their marriage didn’t fall apart because of his indiscretions.
“I broke my wife’s heart and I am lucky that she has forgiven me. I just hope that all the people I have hurt know how sorry I am, including the children, who have been deeply affected. And that is all I want to say about that, because bringing it up only causes more pain.”
The couple briefly split in 2016 when Ozzy went to rehab, but got back together in September of that year.
