Jeff Brazier relives his own young dad journey as Freddy prepares for fatherhood

Freddy announced last month that he will become a father last month

Jeff Brazier recalls his emotional journey when he first embraced fatherhood at age 23.

Now the host, 46, has said his excitement about becoming a grandfather is rooted in the “similarities” between himself and his son Freddy Brazier, who is preparing to welcome his first child at 21.

For context, Freddy announced last month that he is becoming a father with his then-partner Holly Swinburn, although the pair once reconciled.

Jeff said he and his late partner Jade Goody “hadn’t known each other that long” when she became pregnant.

Jade tragically lost her life to cervical cancer in 2009, when Freddy and his younger brother Bobby were just four and five years old.

Speaking to the Sun Jeff said, “I’m really excited to be a grandson. And we’ve built a relationship with Holly and her family so that we’re all as connected as possible and on the same page about how we can support these two.”

He continued, “It’s actually a little intriguing when I think about the similarities between Jade and I having a child early, even though we hadn’t known each other very long before that. And then my mother had me too when she was very young.

“If I could go back and do it all over again, I would, just to take the pressure off a little bit. I don’t feel like it’s up to me to make the outcome perfect.”

The past year has not been easy for Freddy, due to an argument with his grandmother Jackiey Budden, who he previously lived with after seeking comfort from his father despite their dispute.
