Renee Rapp was forced to do something she’s never done in her career: take a step back from her planned performance.
The American singer-songwriter announced that she would stop her Bite Me Tour due to health problems.
In a worrying statement, the Mean Girls star revealed that she had to postpone her tour dates in Tampa and Atlanta, which were scheduled for November 4 and 5 respectively, in order to have a much-needed vocal rest.
In an Instagram story published on Sunday, October 27, she apologetically wrote: “In my career I’ve never had to do this before, but I have to reschedule tonight’s and tomorrow’s shows.”
“I’ve been through an illness, but my body has finally given up,” continued the actress, who gained recognition for playing Regina George in the Broadway musical Mean Girls.
“My doctors have told me it is not safe to perform due to the need for vocal rest and physical recovery,” she added.
