Cristiano Ronaldo has opened up about his personal life and shared a heartfelt insight into his relationship with fiancée Georgina Rodriguez.
In a candid new interview with Piers Morgan, the 40-year-old football icon reflected on a “difficult period” the couple went through together, an experience he says ultimately strengthened their bond.
During the wide-ranging conversation, Ronaldo spoke about several very personal moments, including the tragic loss of his son.
In April 2022, he and Georgina announced in a moving statement on social media that their son, their daughter’s twin brother, had sadly passed away. “We probably further consolidated the relationship during that period,” Ronaldo told Morgan.
‘It was a difficult period, but fun because I learned so much.’
“I saw a different perspective on life: my daughter, who is now three years old, the queen of the family, who makes the house happy,” he continued.
‘Everything happens for a reason. We are a blessed family. I’m proud of that.’
For those unfamiliar, Ronald is the father of five children. The athlete welcomed Cristiano Jr., 15, via a surrogate in 2010.
His twins Eva Maria and Mateo, 8, were born in June 2017, also via surrogate. The couple announced their engagement after eight years together with a surprise Instagram post in August 2025.
