Davina McCall embraces new life after a painful journey with cancer

Davina McCall has started running again for the first time after her treatment for breast cancer and is sharing a positive message with her fans.

The TV star, 58, posted a selfie to Instagram on Saturday, smiling in a red beanie as she celebrated completing her first jog.

She wrote: “First run! Yessssssssssss… back to the first day of running again… so good for my head… a super positive feeling.”

Davina revealed that six weeks before she underwent surgery, she was diagnosed with breast cancer.

However, the media icon discovered a lump while filming The Masked Singer and took it seriously after noticing signs in the studio’s toilets encouraging women to check their breasts.

For the unversed, she underwent a lumpectomy almost three weeks ago.

The presenter explained that the cancer was caught ‘very early’, which makes her feel lucky, but that she will still need five days of radiotherapy in January as a precaution.

Davina went on to say that she was relieved that the cancer had now been removed and thanked her doctors, nurses, family and fiancé Michael Douglas for their enormous support.

Moreover, this is not the first health challenge Davina has faced, as she revealed in November 2024 that she had a rare colloidal cyst, which required a six-hour surgery to remove it.

In her post, the star opened up to encouraging others to take their health seriously, just as she has now learned from her own experiences.

Davina McCall also admitted that she felt anger when she first received her diagnosis, but now feels “in a much more positive place.”
