Bethenny Frankel finally broke the silence about her messy divorce from her second husband, Jason Hoppy.
During an appearance on the latest episode of Alex Cooper’s Call her daddy podcast, the 55-year-old TV personality said that “nothing” compared to the “torment” she experienced when she left Jason.
“I’ve seen my mother slit her wrists. I’ve chased her to the bathroom my whole life, trying to catch her throwing up. I’ve been around guns, the mafia, the race track. I’ve been through it all,” Bethenny said.
“I’ve seen her beaten within an inch of her life. I’ve seen it all. Nothing compares to what my divorce was for 10 years. Nothing,” she added.
The Real Housewives of New York City alum went on to tell Alex that her mother’s battle with alcoholism was “child’s play” compared to the “trauma” she suffered during her divorce from the pharmaceutical executive.
“It was so traumatic. It was ten years of my life. I lost her. I thought I would never survive. I didn’t want to,” Bethenny admitted.
“I had to because of my daughter. I literally thought, ‘I’ll never be happy again,'” she added.
For those unfamiliar, Bethenny and Jason announced their divorce in December 2012 after two years of marriage. The exes share a 15-year-old daughter, Bryn.
