Lizzo clapped back at haters who made a ‘fat joke’ about her body.
Taking to her Instagram account on Thursday, the 37-year-old singer denounced body shamers and acknowledged that the viral comment was “a stupid joke.”
“Today I saw a fat joke about me – in 2025 – and it went viral,” Lizzo wrote alongside a risqué photo of herself.
“They only made fun of me because I’m fat… Let me be a reminder to everyone to NEVER let anyone shame you for what you want to do with your body. Because when you grow up they talk s—, when you’re small they talk s—,” she further wrote.
The Love in real life The musician continued, “Your body will never be good enough for them because it’s not FOR them. It’s for you.”
“If I get a BBL mind your business, if I lose 50 pounds mind your business, if I gain every pound back and then some… mind your business,” she added.
Concluding the lengthy note, Lizzo wrote, “Anyway… my fat* continues to live with a paid-off mortgage on your minds.”
