Jenna Bush Hager unveils the new name of the show ‘Today’ as permanent co-host

Sheinelle Jones has become Jenna Bush Hager’s regular cohost on the Today show.

Jones has replaced Hoda Kotb nearly a year after she left the show as cohost. On December 9, the announcement came that Jones will join Jenna Bush Hager as permanent co-host of the 10 o’clock hour.

During the December 9 show, Bush Hager cried as he thanked viewers and then announced Jones as her new co-host. She also revealed that Jones’ first show will be on January 12.

“We have a very special show today. Over the past year, guys, I have had the privilege of co-hosting this show with 60 amazing friends, all of whom have opened up to me, who have inspired me, I have laughed, I have cried, I have made some incredible friends and I have learned so much about myself,” said Bush Hager. “And you, the audience, have been with me the whole time, so thank you very much.”

She continued, “Today I am so happy to announce that I have found my forever friend and we will be embarking on a brand new journey this January. I couldn’t be more excited to share this person with all of you. You all know her, she is an extraordinary host. But more importantly, she exemplifies exactly what this show is about.”

Since Kotb’s departure on January 9 this year, many celebrities have co-hosted the show with Bush Hager. The show was even renamed Jenna & Friends. The guest hosts included Scarlett Johansson, Olivia Munn and Reese Witherspoon.

Now the show has been rebranded again TODAY with Jenna and Sheinelle.

Sheinelle Jones currently co-hosts the 3rd Hour of Today with Dylan Dreyer, Al Roker and Craig Melvin.
