Martin Grelis, best known for his role in the science fiction classic The matrix, has died. He was 57.
The Australian actor’s talent agent, Sophie Jermyn Management, confirmed Martin’s death on social media on Tuesday.
“Vale Martin. We are so saddened to hear that our beloved client has passed away,” the agency announced while sharing a photo of a beaming Grelis.
“Martin was a bright spark who lit up every room he was in – a talented actor, a kind person and an amazing soul,” they continued.
Concluding the statement, the talent agency added: “Our condolences and thoughts are with his family and loved ones during this difficult time. Gone far too soon.”
Shortly after the announcement, Martin’s fans took to social media to express their condolences for the actor’s death.
“I’m so saddened to hear this. Martin was the most lovely man. Sending my condolences and love to everyone who knew him,” one person wrote.
“Sorry to hear this news. Sending love,” a second added.
Martin appeared in several films during his three-decade career in the entertainment industry.
The veteran actor is known for his work in films including: The Matrix, All Saints’ Day, Water Rats, And Mabo.
