Ex-Rainbow singer Graham Bonnet has responded to accusations from his former band, Alcatrazz, claiming they are trying to ‘destroy’ him.
Bonnet, 77, made the admission on a recent episode of the Stairs To Rock podcast.
During his performance, Bonnet discussed the praise for his live shows and the ongoing dispute with Alcatrazz, which he left in 2020 due to management disagreements.
“They call themselves Alcatrazz,” Bonnet said. “The manager of the band is singing… and they say I’m lip-syncing. They’re doing everything they can to destroy me.”
He shared a recent snippet from his live album Lost in Hollywood againrecorded at Whiskey a Go Go in Los Angeles in 2024, insisting he performs entirely live.
“You can see from this video that there’s nothing there. I’m live, I’m singing,” he said, adding that fans have noticed how consistent his voice remains compared to his younger years.
Bonnet also criticized Alcatrazz’s current lineup, claiming there were pre-recorded performances from a keyboardist and poor singing from the band’s manager.
“When they say I don’t sing, I can say this: the keyboardist can’t play and the manager can’t sing,” he added.
Alcatrazz previously claimed in 2024 that Bonnet had been lip-syncing since 2017 due to voice problems and substance abuse issues.
