Elle Fanning looks back on an embarrassing moment and calls it ‘hilarious’.
In a recent interview with W magazine published on Tuesday, January 6, the 27-year-old actress recalled fainting at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival.
The Great alum revealed the reason behind the incident, noting, “Yes, my dress was too tight.”
“My sister was sitting at another table and she saw my chair fall all the way back. It’s kind of hilarious, very dramatic,” she continued.
The actress recalled how the moment became a hot topic at the event.
“Colin Firth was there and he rushed over to me. It was the talk of the festival,” Fanning reflected.
Fainting is something the Maleficent actress also experienced this often during her youth.
“I fainted a lot at school,” she remembers. “I grew about eight inches in one year, and I think my body grew so much that I got altitude sickness.”
It is pertinent to mention that Fanning was present at Cannes as a chief jury member. She was wearing a pink Prada dress at the time.
Following the incident, Fanning also addressed the incident on her official Instagram account at the time, writing, “Oops, I passed out in my 1950s Prada prom dress tonight, but it’s all good.”
She added that the dress was too tight and that it was also “#timeofthemonth.”
