The Franchise Punjab Kings of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has excluded the Pakistan logo from the promotional banner of the high -voltage matches of the current Asia Cup and India that is being played on Sunday in Dubai International Stadium.
The exclusion led to criticism among fans of followers of Cricket and accused the franchise of expressing a lack of respect towards Pakistan.
The promotional banner contained the Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav and the Cricket logo of India, but omitted Pakistan, while the corresponding hashtag only called India.
This exclusion led to widespread criticism from fans and cricket followers, who accused the franchise of being politically motivated and disrespectful towards Pakistan.
Some fans claimed that there was “fear of calling Pakistan” before the game, while others argued: “Why accept defeat before the game? It is not as if the game is against an invisible team, so why the fear?”
While a few fans claim that the match of India is against John Cena, who uses the slogan ‘You can’t see me’. Some went further and noticed that such movements only humiliate those behind them.
This is not the first time that the controversy has affected a collision of India-Pakistan.
Recently, during the second edition of the Legends World Championship (WCL), the India champions not only refused to play Pakistan in the league match, but also in the semi-final, stating elevated tensions between the two nations.
Many former Indian cricketers have also repeatedly urged boycots of matches against Pakistan on various forums.
At the front of Cricket, India takes on Sunday’s game after a nine-wicket victory over the VAE in their opening match.
The men in blue threw the hosts for only 57 runs and chased the target in 4.3 overs. Pakistan will now start his campaign against Oman on Friday at the same location.
Historically, India and Pakistan collided 13 times in T20 internationals, in which India led the record of the head of the head 10–3.
Their most recent meeting came on February 23 during the ICC Champions Trophy in Dubai, where India won a six-wicket victory.
