Amy Schumer opened up about a behind-the-scenes struggle she faced during a recent event appearance.
The Train wreck star, who posted her perfect-looking photo in a gold mid-dress from an event, revealed she had some “gastro issues” before and during the show.
Amy expressed her gratitude for her help during the event, writing, “The Mt Sinai medical staff and @atria.health helped me get through the show, even though I had some gastrointestinal issues leading up to and during the performance. I’m proud that I got through it. Oh boy!”
It is pertinent to mention that the actress has taken the weight loss drug Mounjaro which helped her lose 50 pounds.
According to GoodRx, the drug caused gastrointestinal problems because Mounjaro works by slowing stomach emptying.
She previously used Ozempic, but ended up experiencing serious side effects. Later, Amy discovered that Mounjaro and hormone therapy were more effective.
In December, Amy spoke out about her sudden weight loss, revealing that she didn’t lose 50 pounds to look good, but instead to “survive” her illness.
She wrote on her social media to clarify questions about her weight loss, stating that she lost a few pounds “not to look pretty, which does feel nice and temporary,” but “to survive.”
Seemingly referring to Cushing’s syndrome, the actress explained, “I had a disease that makes your face extremely swollen and can kill you, but the internet discovered it and the disease is gone.”
“I’m sorry for how it makes you feel that I lost that weight,” she added at the time.
