The mother of the man (Luke Daley) accused of kidnapping the older woman, due to their ‘similar’ stature and height, lives just two miles away.
For those unfamiliar with the ongoing investigations, a $1 million reward is being offered to anyone who can provide information regarding her recovery.
Additionally, investigators are being aided by the FBI as evidence mounts toward her current condition, including an alarming update on the state of her pacemaker app, which has been inactive since the day after her arrest.
The Today Show host’s mother was last seen in Foothills, Arizona, on February 1, 2026, attending church a day earlier.
Initial reports from police found blood on her porch and even a camera shot of the bell ringing the entire kidnapping plan as it unfolded.
Following all of this, as well as the raid on her own home, the suspect’s mother spoke to Briana Whitney with True Crime Ariona.
She explains that the whole thing lasted over six hours and “I was in the SWAT vehicle and they went through my house and ransacked everything and tore everything… to pieces, if the door was locked they would break it open to go see what was inside. There was really nothing in there. It was quite disturbing.”
“I guess I assumed that because I lived close by or something. I just said I’d do anything… if we could find some clues that might help, but I don’t think there’s anything in that.”
While her son has since been released and has spoken out about his own innocence and trashed the public propaganda that put him first in the first place.
