Harry Styles has shared his thoughts on the creative process of making songs.

In a new chat for Varietythe singing sensation shared his two cents on the assets that come with creating something and sharing it with the world.

Speaking to Haruki Murakami, Style began: “I think there’s a moment when you create something, when it feels so pure to you; a very beautiful moment when it’s done and it’s just yours.”

Styles also addressed the fact that sharing your work always comes with an emotional challenge.

“Then there is almost a sadness in the transference. You have to let it go, as if you were sending your child to school, and then it feels somewhat distant from you.”

“But it’s only been in the last few years that I’ve realized how many of people’s comments aren’t necessarily about me at all. I think I’m less important,” he further reflected.

“And that can be quite scary when you realize it’s not about me, but it can also be very liberating to know that my job here is to just remain a person, and continue to capture that,” he concluded, explaining that people’s reactions to his work aren’t always about him personally.
