Rumor has it that Paul Bettany, a star who showed his acting chops in the Marvel franchise, will play the supervillain Lord Voldemort in the new series. Harry Potter show.
However, the actor says he has not heard anything from the makers yet, as he has not yet been offered the role.
“I haven’t heard anything about that,” he said ScreenRantand added, “I mean, I’m a big fan of IP, and I’m a big fan of HBO, but no one has called me about it.”
But Bettany isn’t the only star rumored to be the hot favorite to play the role. Cillian Murphy’s name has also been thrown into the mix.
The Peaky blinders star, in response, denied being considered for the role in a recent interview.
“That’s absolutely not me,” he mocked the rumors in the interview The times. “Can you make the headline out of that?”
In other news: Katie Leung, who played Cho Chang in the Harry Potter franchise, said she does not want to return to Hogwarts because she has left that stage of her life.
“I wouldn’t want to go back to that time. Not because I had a bad time or anything, but it’s just really nice when you know who you are, and I’m still figuring that out, but I’m a little bit closer,” she told ET.
Harry Potter is currently filming and the show will air on HBO Max in 2027.
