Elon Musk previously warned Christopher Nolan not to cast Lupita Nyong’o as Helen of Troy The Odyssey.
According to him, it would be “an insult” to Homer – the ancient Greek poet who wrote the classic.
He said the poet described Helen as “light-skinned, fair and ‘the face that launched a thousand ships’ because she was so beautiful that men started a war over her.”
But then Nyong’o’s casting was confirmed as Helen of Troy and also in the second role as Helen’s sister Clytemnestra.
The Tesla boss is probably furious.
Annoyed by Nolan’s decision, Musk went to X – where he is the owner – and shared his thoughts publicly on Matt Walsh’s post.
The conservative firecracker wrote: “Not one person on this planet actually thinks Lupita Nyong’o is ‘the most beautiful woman in the world.’
“But Christopher Nolan knows he would be called racist if he gave the role of ‘most beautiful woman’ to a white woman. Nolan is technically talented, but a coward.”
Musk wrote in a one-word response: “True.”
However, Nyong’o wasn’t the only casting choice Musk apparently loves.
Elliot Page is another.
The actor, who is transgender, will also be included in the ensemble cast of The Odyssey.
For his part, Nolan has recently defended his various choices The Odyssey, which hits theaters on July 17.
