Gayle King clears the air about her love life and makes it clear that she has given up on her happily ever after to find her own.
During a conversation TIME magazine’s A Year in TIME eventthe veteran journalist revealed that she remains hopeful when it comes to love.
In the candid exchange, the CBS mornings co-host said she is still “searching” for her own “great love story.”
Her comments come just weeks after King was forced to publicly suppress engagement rumors that were circulating online due to AI-generated images that falsely suggested a major change in her relationship status.
Tackling the speculation during a CBS mornings During the October broadcast, King said she was inundated with messages after the viral images.
“I got a lot of texts, a lot of messages and stories online that I was engaged,” she explained at the time.
The Note to self The author admitted that the situation became particularly awkward when congratulations poured in from well-wishers celebrating a romance that did not exist.
“People say, ‘Congratulations,’ ‘Love really happened to you,’ ‘I’m so happy for you,'” King revealed.
She later ridiculed the rumors, adding with a laugh, “Look at me with a big ring on my finger.” There’s a lucky man – I have no idea who he is.’
