Meta has announced new guarantees for teenagers who use his artificial intelligence products, training systems to prevent flirative conversations and discussions about self-harm or suicide with minors, while also temporarily limiting access to certain AI signs.
The movement follows one Reuters Exclusive report from earlier in August that revealed that the chatbots of Meta could enter into provocative fairs, including “romantic or sensual” conversations.
In an e-mail on Friday, meta-spokesperson Andy Stone said that the company introduces these interim measures, because it works on longer-term solutions to offer teenagers safe, AI interactions suitable for age.
Stone said that the guarantees are already being rolled out and will be adjusted over time because the company refines its systems.
Meta’s AI policy came under intense control and recoil after the Reuters report.
The US Senator Josh Hawley launched a probe in the AI policy of the Facebook -Parent earlier this month and demanded documents about rules with which the chatbots can inappropriate with minors.
Both Democrats and Republicans in the congress have expressed an alarm about the rules described in an internal meta document that was first assessed by Reuters.
Meta had confirmed the authenticity of the document, but said that after receiving questions earlier this month of ReutersThe company removed portions that stated that it was allowed for chatbots to flirt and play romantic role play with children.
“The examples and notes in question were and are incorrect and inconsistent with our policy, and have been removed,” Stone said earlier this month.
