SpaceX, owned by Elon Musk, plans to end 2025 with its final 165th launch with the COSMO-SkyMed mission, scheduled for Saturday, December 27, 2025.
The latest launch will be carried out using a Falcon 9 rocket, marking a record year for technology magnate Elon Musk’s aerospace company.
The Falcon 9 rocket will take off from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California at 6:08 PM Pacific Time.
The mission is a joint collaboration between the Italian Space Agency and the Italian Ministry of Defense, with the aim of improving Earth monitoring and national security.
Second-generation COSMO-SkyMed satellites are equipped with high-resolution radar images and provide data related to disaster management, safety operations and environmental assessment.
In case of delays due to technical problems and weather conditions, the launch will be rescheduled to December 28.
Those who show tremendous enthusiasm in space-related missions can watch the launch live on SpaceX’s official website and its X account. The ideal time to watch the live streaming is about 15 minutes before takeoff.
In 2025, SpaceX will have made record-breaking history with the completion of its 165th launch.
