“It was my first experience with domesticity, motherhood and partnership,” she said. “I remember walking with Ever to the little Canyon market and taking our laundry to the laundromat downstairs and folding her little clothes for the first time and the simplicity and beauty of Laurel Canyon in the late 1970s.”

She further added about Robert’s passion for fast driving, noting, “Bobby was a race car driver and he was driving a Corvette fast and furious at Mulholland. It’s a miracle we didn’t get killed. One day I remember the sun was on his face and I turned around and looked at him and said, ‘Wait, were you in the movie The Cowboys? Were you slim?’ He was my first crush in the movies and I didn’t realize it.

“We remained friends after we broke up, and so did Ever and I,” Jamie concluded her tribute. “The long and winding road. Rest in speed, humor and love, Bobby.”
