Jon Bon Jovi has officially entered a new chapter of his life, he is now a grandfather of two children.
The 63-year-old rock icon’s son, Jesse Bongiovi, and his wife, Jesse Light, welcomed their first child, a baby girl named Blair Lucy.
The couple announced the happy news on Instagram on November 10, sharing a photo of their newborn holding a finger while wearing a pink, blue and white striped hat.
“Blair Lucy Bongiovi. Our sweet girl has arrived and we couldn’t be happier. Welcome to the world baby Blair bear,” they wrote in their joint caption.
Jesse and his wife, who got married in Las Vegas on May 7, 2024, celebrated their nuptials in the same chapel where Bon Jovi and Dorothea Bongiovi eloped in 1989.
The new parents first met in 2018 at the Surf Lodge in Montauk, NY, a special place where Bongiovi later proposed.
Before Blair arrived, Bon Jovi had hinted that the family was growing again.
Appears on BBC’s The One Showhe shared, “It’s a new chapter in life, you know… I mean this, this next generation comes along and suddenly I have a granddaughter, and next week there’s another one coming.”
He summed up his greatest parenting lesson simply: “Let them be them.”
This is the second grandchild for the Living on a prayer singer. Earlier this year, his son Jake Bongiovi and daughter-in-law Millie Bobby Brown welcomed a baby girl through adoption.
The couple announced the news in August, writing, “This summer we welcomed our sweet girl through adoption. We are beyond excited to begin this wonderful next chapter of parenthood in peace and privacy… And then there were three.”
After meeting his first grandchild, the proud rocker shared the name he plans to use: “Daddy.”
He told Today’s Savannah Guthrie that the bond was instant, saying, “You immediately fall in love… you think, ‘That’s my granddaughter.'”
He joked that soon she won’t be able to walk anymore because “Daddy will carry her everywhere she goes.”
Interestingly enough, his chosen grandfather name is also the name of a character from Brown’s series Stranger thingswhere ‘Dad’ watches over Eleven.
