Barbie Ferreira has just thought about collaborating with ‘cool girl’ Charli XCX.
The Euphoria actress, who has known the British pop star ‘for a long time’ and considers herself an ‘OG fan’, has discussed what it’s like working with Charli in her first acting role in the new horror film. Faces of death.
“I mean, this was her first acting role that she did, and now she’s like a big movie star, pop star,” she told Term.
“You don’t understand, this was a year earlier (her 2024 album) Brat. We were the OG fans. I’ve known Charli for a long time and have been such a fan of hers through all her albums and all her shows,” Ferreira said.
“It was her first acting job. It was so cool to be there,” she added.
Although she was a Charli fan before Brat, Ferreira insisted the singer’s big hit album in the summer of 2024 would be “big” for her.
“Brat Summer was huge for me,” she said. “I went to about seventeen shows. Thanks Charli, for the tickets.”
The actress added that it was “cool” to see their professional worlds intersect.
“It was cool to see her come into my world, where it’s a little less glamorous, where we’re filming in Louisiana, these kind of indie horror films, where it’s fifteen hours a day and the call time is four in the morning,” Ferreira explains.
She went on to say, “So it’s really nice to see her in that element and outside of the big glamorous pop star, the cool girl that she is and really in character.”
After shooting Faces of death, Charli XCX quickly racked up several acting credits. Most have been shown at film festivals, but alone 100 Nights of Hero and her mockumentary The moment have been released so far.
It is relevant to mention that Faces of deatha new version of the 1978 film, is a 2026 American horror film and was released on April 10, 2026.
